| Traditional Tarascon | ||||||||||
| Like the other famous cities of Provence, Tarascon has a plethera of festivals and activities, many of which are free: from art shows, music and dancing, bonfires, bullfights, and parades with medieval Knights in costumes competing in equestrian contests. All summer long there are bullfights in the region from Portuguese style on horseback to traditional Ferrades with all its colourful fanfare. Tarascon is next to the Carmargue, great for wildlife watching. Tarascon has a fabulous 15th century châteaux complete with a legendary monster, the Tarasque, who is celebrated in a fun-packed family festival in June. Close the Mediterranean Sea, Tarascon is not far from breath-taking Les Beaux and fashionable St Remy. From Van Gogh to Marquis de Sade, Roman viaducts to pink flamingos. The area is steeped in renaissance history and natural beauty. | ||||||||||
